Issue Details
The cRIO continuously reboots until it reaches an invalid configuration state. When reviewing the system logs, Error 50400 is observed. This behavior is commonly associated with issues related to the NI 9770 C-Series module, either due to an incorrect program mode or a faulty module.
Solution / Procedure
Program Mode or Firmware Issue on the C-Series Module
This issue may be related to the program mode or firmware version of the installed C-Series module.
- Ensure the RIO drivers are installed on the server or on a computer that can communicate with the cRIO.
- Open NI MAX.
- Locate the cRIO and review the program mode of the installed modules.
- If the firmware version is outdated, the program mode information may not be visible.
- Perform a firmware upgrade on the module if required.
Faulty NI 9770 Module
If the reboot behavior continues, the issue may be caused by a faulty NI 9770 module.
- If the cRIO contains multiple modules, disable the equipment or remove channels associated with each module one at a time to identify the problematic card.
- If the cRIO contains only one module, replace the NI 9770 with a known good spare if available.
- If no spare is available, temporarily borrow an NI 9770 module from another EMI system for testing.
