Issue Details

A CompactRIO (cRIO) device displays a Config Status: Error on the Device Configuration page in InsightCM. This issue can occur if a deployment is initiated and the cRIO is disconnected before the process completes.

Solution / Procedure

This error may be caused by multiple conditions. Follow the steps below to resolve the issue.

Option 1: Retry the Deployment

  1. Reconnect the cRIO.
  2. Retry the deployment.
  3. Verify that the Config Status updates correctly.

If the error persists, continue with Option 2.

 

Option 2: Purge the System Management Service (SMS) Database

Important: This procedure clears the System Management Service (SMS) database. Any images listed under Navigation Menu > Utilities > Package Manager must be re-uploaded after completing this process.

  1. Navigate to C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Shared\SMS
  2. Create a backup of the SMS database by running:

    nismsutil.exe --backup <path_and_file_name>
  3. Purge the database by running: 

    nismsutil.exe --purgeData
  4. Restart the InsightCM and MongoDB services.device config2.png
