Upgrade Error: Erlang Version Is Too Old

Issue Details

During an upgrade to InsightCM version 3.11 or 3.12, the upgrade process may fail due to an Erlang version compatibility issue.

The error message may appear as:
“Your installed version of Erlang (20.2) is too old. Please install a more recent version [26.0,).”

Note: The Erlang version number shown in the error message may vary.

Solution / Procedure

1. Restore the server to the checkpoint or backup created before running the upgrade. It is strongly recommended to always have a valid backup or checkpoint before performing an upgrade.
2. Start the server and verify that all services and applications are running as expected.
3. Stop the following services:
   1. InsightCM
   2. InsightCM MongoDB
   3. RabbitMQ
   4. postgresql-x64-16
4. Uninstall all Erlang versions installed on the server.
5. Run the InsightCM installer again to complete the upgrade.
