Is it supported to upgrade from InsightCM 3.8.7 to a later version when the server is configured as a Modbus master reading data directly from a Modbus slave device?This scenario typically arises during upgrade planning when Modbus data is collected directly by the InsightCM server rather than through an external gateway or device.
If the InsightCM server is acting as a Modbus master reading directly from a Modbus slave, upgrading from InsightCM 3.8.7 to InsightCM 3.9.x or InsightCM 3.11.0 will result in issues with Modbus data handling.
If the system is upgraded to InsightCM 3.11.0 or any earlier version, Modbus trend data collected on the server will be lost.
Solution / Procedure
To preserve all existing Modbus trend data, the system must be upgraded to InsightCM 3.11.1 or later.
