Does the MCSA or EMI Devices Support Static Modules?

When creating a new configuration or system in InsightCM, users may ask whether static modules can be added to MCSA or EMI devices. This article explains the supported static module configurations based on the InsightCM version.

Solution

Support for static modules on MCSA and EMI devices depends on the InsightCM version.

InsightCM 3.9.3 and older versions

1. MCSA
   • Supports NI 9242 in the first slot only
   • All remaining slots must use NI 9239
2. EMI
   • Supports NI 9770 only

InsightCM 3.9.4

1. MCSA
   • Supports NI 9242 or NI 9244 in the first slot
   • All remaining slots must use NI 9239
2. EMI
   • Supports NI 9770 only

Static modules outside of these supported configurations are not supported and should not be used when creating or modifying InsightCM systems.
