InsightCM Is Not Getting Data From Devices After the Upgrade

Issue Details

After upgrading InsightCM, devices may show online transitions but eventually go offline and stop acquiring data. This behavior is typically observed shortly after the upgrade is completed.

Solution / Resolution

Verify the following items to restore data acquisition.

1. Verify the Application Version

The application version installed on the device must match the upgraded InsightCM version.

Follow these steps:

1. Go to Device Configuration
2. Select the Software tab
3. Select the device showing the behavior
4. Click Update Application

2. Verify the Firmware Version on the Device

If the InsightCM version is later than 3.12.0, cRIO devices must run firmware version 25.5.

To upgrade the firmware:

1. Install cRIO drivers on the server
2. Request the firmware file from the Cutsforth Support Team
3. Launch NI MAX
4. Go to Remote Systems
5. Select the cRIO device and click Update Firmware in the System Settings tab
6. Select the firmware file provided by Support
7. Begin the update process

After completing the steps above:

2. Click the Action Menu
3. Select Connection → Reset Connection
4. Wait a few minutes

The device should begin acquiring data normally during the day.
