Issue Details
It may be necessary to replicate an InsightCM server or create a backup of the MongoDB databases and Files directory. This is commonly required when preparing a replacement server, migrating environments, or creating a safe backup of critical InsightCM data.
Solution/Procedure
To replicate an InsightCM server or back up the databases and Files directory, follow the steps below:
1. On the InsightCM (ICM) server, open Services from the Windows menu.
2. Stop the following services:
- InsightCM
- InsightCM MongoDB
- PostgreSQL
3. Locate the database and files directory.
By default, this is located at:
C:\ProgramData\Cutsforth\InsightCM
Note: The directory location may vary depending on system configuration.
4. Copy the entire directory (including the MongoDB databases and Files folder) to a safe backup location or to the target server (the Files folder may be a big size folder).
5. Once the folders have been successfully copied, restart the services in the following order:
- InsightCM MongoDB
- InsightCM
- PostgreSQL
