The IR Thermography System follows Cutsforth's standard InsightCM reference architecture: field devices (cameras and the cRIO controller) connect to an on-premise or cloud-hosted server running the InsightCM server application, which in turn makes data available to a web interface, a plant historian, and other connected business systems. For a detailed architecture diagram, refer to the Infrared Thermography Installation Planning Guide (EZDP-2152).

InsightCM requires a dedicated server. If NI SystemLink is present on the target machine (for example, from a previous NI deployment), install InsightCM on a different server, as the two products cannot share a machine.

Cutsforth recommends using solid state drives to improve disk throughput.
A fast or gigabit Ethernet (100 Mbps or 1000 Mbps) local area network or business network connection is required between a PC/server running InsightCM and the data acquisition devices. It is also preferable for this PC/server to be connected through the network to the site data historian for ease of gathering process data.
