Note

This section provides a high-level installation summary. For complete installation details, conduit layout drawings, strut rack specifications, and enclosure mounting dimensions, refer to the Wired Vibration Monitoring Installation Planning Guide (EZDP-2153).

Major Installation Steps

  • Mount the Wired Vibration Monitoring system enclosure at the planned location.

  • If not already installed, install vibration sensors at the desired locations on equipment to be monitored.

  • Install conduit and run shielded signal cabling between the vibration sensors and the monitoring system enclosure. Maximum cable length is dependent on the sensor, frequency range of interest, and power supplied by the input card.

  • Install conduit and run cable for AC power input to the monitoring system enclosure. Minimum circuit: 20 A, 120/240 VAC, free of non-linear loads. A circuit with an isolated ground is recommended.

  • Install conduit and run cable for the data connection. Cutsforth recommends Cat6a or fiber (fiber requires a media converter). Refer to cable specifications for recommended maximum cable lengths.

  • Ensure the plant’s InsightCM server is set up and ready to communicate with field equipment prior to Cutsforth commissioning.
